This film is more a creative, classy thriller, rather than a straight-up horror film. In addition in Little Erin Merryweather the men are the victims for once, and a young woman the serial killer. The film flips the genre on its head while being a throwback to the 70′s style of Horror film made popular by The Omen . Overall the film is very powerful, and makes use of the beautiful landscape of his home state as an integral part of the film it becomes almost a character.
