The story continues from where we leave off last time: Kuo Tsing (Alexander Fu Sheng) by winning a duel wins the hand of Huang Yung (Niu Niu). But because of the enmity between Huang Yung’s father and Chou Pai Tung, the latter abducts Kuo Tsing onto his boat. Chasing after Kuo Tsing, Huang Yung falls into the hands of Ouyang Fung (Wang Lung-wei). This eventually leads to a fierce battle between Kuo Tsing and Ouyang Fung. Hung Chi-kung (Ku Feng) who is fighting on Kuo Tsing’s side is badly injured but manages to flee the enemy with Kuo Tsing and Huang Yung. Knowing that his chance of fully recovering is very slim, Hung asks Huang Yung to take over his role as leader of the Beggar Clan by giving her the Bamboo Stick. It is the tradition of the Beggar Clan that whoever gets handed over the Bamboo Stick becomes the new clan leader.
Hung also teaches Huang Yung the special martial art tactics of their clan….
