Internationally acclaimed director Chang Cheh brings back David Chiang and Ti Lung for the second time in this classic “heroic bloodshed” epic Have Sword, Will Travel, it’s title inspired by the “lond gunman” Hollywood hit TV show Have Gun, Will Travel. Ti Lung is the armor of an “armored carriage” taking silver to the capital. Along the way a mysterious knight stalks him, David Chiang. Although he appears to be the robber, he turns out to be his savior.
Each year knight Ying Ke-feng of Peerless Manor escorts 200,000 taels of silver to the capital. Now that he’s getting on, he enlists the aid of other, younger knights. Among them, Hsiang Ting and Yun Piao-piao, heading for Ying’s Manor, meet adept knight Le I. Jumping to conclusions, Hsiang decides Le’s a spy from the evil Flying Tigers Manor. The accusation lead the two men to fight, but the misunderstanding is cleared up when Le then saves Yun from a secret attack by a Flying Tiger thug.
Meanwhile, Chiao Hung, the chief of Flying Tigers Manor, offers Le a bribe to join the gang. But, Le refuses.
When the silver was delivered, Chiao and his henchmen are on hand to rob the consignment. Together, Hsiang, Yun and Le slay the marauders. But the price is heavy : Hsiang is wounded, and Le is killed.
