During the 1970s and 80s, Shaw Brothers stars Ti Lung and David Chiang were considered the perfect embodiment of Gu Long’s heroes, an opinion that was shared by Chor Yuen and Gu Long himself. Although it was Ti Lung who ended up starring in most of Chor’s Gu Long adaptations, David Chiang takes the lead in Murder Plot as charismatic wandering swordsman Shen Lang. When a ruthless and powerful sect leader attempts to take over the martial arts world, swordsmen from all corners must form a coalition to face this sinister force. Forever with a faint smile on his lips, Shen is a carefree bounty hunter with little interest in wuxia power struggles, but he soon gets pulled into the battle. Murder Plot co-stars Candice Yu, Jing Li, and Norman Tsui.
