Courage Of Lassie (1946)

In this third in the Lassie film series, the famed collie plays the mother and her grown son, Bill. After being abandoned in the north woods as a pup,Bill is accidentally shot, but is found by a girl who nurses him back to health and adopts him. A tragic accident causes him to be separated from her and he eventually winds up as a war dog. Somehow making it back home, his wartime experiences changes him into a battle-scarred veteran whose killing spree leads to his accusation of being a dangerous dog and facing the death sentence for his crimes.
