NINJA TERMINATOR begins as the evil ninja empire threatens to encroach on the good and take over. Three martial arts students, determined to stop the evil ninjas, decide to search for “The Golden Ninja Warrior,” a sacred ninja icon that gives its possessor unimaginable powers. Of course, others are also seeking the powerful icon, including interpol and a gang of rival ninjas, leading to an unforgettable showdown at Devil’s Rock.
Ninja movies can be hit or miss, and this one’s a definite hit. It’s outrageous, constantly pushing the envelope as far as creativity goes. Things like cinematography are as irrelevant as the story with films like this, the direction is adequate and the acting, though difficult to tell due to the slapdash dubbing, obviously plays second fiddle to the action. It’s never going to give your brain much to chew on but at the end of the day that’s not why films like this were popular during the 80’s. The ninjitsu comes thick and fast, and that’s all you can ask for really. Besides, how can you not love a ninja that chases people around in a Ford Cortina? This film has style by the bucketload.
