The Tenant (French: Le Locataire) is a 1976 psychological thriller/horror film directed by Roman Polanski based upon the 1964 novel Le locataire chimérique by Roland Topor. It is also known under the French title Le Locataire. It co-stars actress Isabelle Adjani.
This is probably one of the best films of all time. And it’s one of the best Polanski films of all time. It is not a simple film to watch. It has so many layers you need to see it multiple times. In fact, it’s a film everyone seems to love. Is it horror? Is it a black Comedy? There is no clear answer. Some find it scary, some don’t. I have seen it many times, in many theaters, and each experience is different. The people who watch it for the first time call it a Weird Trip!
