Sullivan’s Travels (1941)

Sullivan was a successful director, damaged, and innocence of the film down, not with a heart of gold-o, who has decided he wants to make a film about the plight of the poor oppressed. Much to the chagrin of his producers, he laid out in tramp clothes with a penny in his pocket to experience poverty first-hand, and be a real shock.
