Melanie Carmichael, a fashion designer and rose in New York, has received almost everything she wants to since she was young. She had a great career and a husband is like JFK in New York City. But when he proposed to her, she does not forget her family back down South – and more importantly, her husband there, who refuses to divorce since she sent divorce paper for almost five years. To solve the problem directly, she decided to go south quick and make him sign the papers. But when things did not turn out the way she planned them out, she realizes that what she had before in the South have been much more perfect than the life she had in New York City.
