When tragedies strike, 16, América Campos was sent to Argentina to live with her grandmother Lucia América anti-American. América struggles to find his place with a grandmother she has never known and to maintain a friendship with Sergio, a neighbor twice her age. This is a very real film, almost too real. The discomfort experienced by Amèrica and her grandmother is genuine, and at times, the film is painful to watch, though this is in no way meant to its detriment.
