In Julie Taymor kind of "The Tempest", the vigour character is now a woman named Prospera. Let’s continue back to the 16th or 17 Century, women practicing the magical arts of alchemy day in and day out convicted of witchcraft. In Taymor’s version, Prospera usurped before her brother and sent with her four-year-old daughter on a ship. She lands on an island, it’s a tabula rasa: no society, so the mam figure becomes a father figure to Miranda. This leads to the power worm and balance between Caliban and Prospera, a contest not to muscle power, but relative to understanding.
